Group: Storyboard

Storyboard by Michael Steadman
Due to my handwriting being hard to read, here are the 6 boxes in order of what is happening:
  1. Two teenage boys hear a rumour about a haunted artifact. They found the curch and go to explore.
  2. A silhouette is seen against a tree with the boys in view, walking towards the church. (Similar to that of the horror film "Suspiria")
  3. With their torches lit they investigate the church. The lights are off and it is dark. (We will ask for permission to do this, and we will also ask to light some candles, to give an eerie and unsettling presence.)
  4. The boys split up, one sees the artifact glowing between two small candles. (We will try to illuminate the artifact as best as possible. Candle lighting may be too dim, the use of a torch may help.)
  5. He picks up the artifact. He shrieks with pain and faints. The other boy comes over and phone 999, but the battery runs out. He kneels down beside him and puts his torch on the floor.
  6. The shadowy figure from before is heard coming through the door, and it's cloak is seen hidden in the corner of the church, near the walkway. The organ then plays a few seconds later and the boy shouts for him to "stop." The scene then ends abruptly, with little questions answered...
  • After much concideration we are planning to film at dusk, around 5pm to 7pm. This allows enough time and lighting for successful filming. HOWEVER the indoor scenes will, hopefully, be shot at a church in Salehurst. These may be slightly later at night, candle-lit and dim backing lights. This is ideal as the church has many stain glass windows and would look too light around 5pm.
  • There will be little dialogue, however this will be boosted by the soundtrack (that I, Michael, will make on CuBase) and sound effects.
  • We will shoot plenty of stills and long shots, specializing in canted angles and various pans. We may use over the shoulder shots when addressing the evil cloaked character to show his points of view.
  • After pitching our idea to the class we decided that the use of jump cuts, motivated cuts and long camera prevalence would be ideal to add suspence and enigma.
We may make changes depending on lighting, weather and use of props. However our main plotline is almost entirely complete.
