A local tale, passed down through the generations, tells of strange goings-on inside the old church, things that cause the locals to stay away. Two regular teenage boys venture to explore the old church, curious, but preferring to believe in logic and reason over local myths.
As they wander through the building, something catches the eye of one of them. He gets distracted by this and the friends get separated. The one who wandered off notices something unnatural. A kind of floating object, like a crucifix necklace. (At this point the music builds up tension). He slowly walks towards it; eyes fixed, and takes it. (The music comes to a sudden halt. Nothing happens). He walks around the corner and we hear him fall to ground. (The picture then fades into darkness). As the picture fades back in we see, from the ‘victim’ point of view from the floor, his friend coming round the corner. His friend crouches down to see what’s wrong, but the boy just lays still. His friend calls for help on his phone. No signal. He gets up to get help from the village but notices something. He quickly steps back round the corner and peeks round. There is a tall figure, in black robes, hunched over an altar, illuminated only by candlelight. It turns, sensing the boys’ presence. A knife slides out from under his sleeve, and it approaches. This is the reason people stay away.
